Congratulations to the Varsity Football Team! The team earned a playoff win last Friday night by defeating Ortonville, Brandon 22-15. The first-round win over Brandon marks the program's first ever playoff victory!
Coach Pesci stated the following at the conclusion of the hard-fought football game. "I could not be more proud of this school, program and for this community right now!"
Head coach, Joe Pesci, was hired in 2015 to rebuild the East football program. Under his leadership, the Cougars have experienced several first-time program achievements including most wins in a season, an MHSAA playoff win, a first win over cross-town rival, South Lyon, the lowest defensive point total in season and most points scored in a season.
The team has an opportunity for another FIRST. On Friday, November 2 the Cougars will take-on the Falcons in a second round playoff game at Farmington High School. The team will play for an opportunity to win the MHSAA District Championship. Kick-off takes place at 7:00 p.m. at Farmington H.S. With that said, there is a unique backstory connecting the East coaching staff to Farmington H.S. Coach Pesci, along with some of his staff members, know Farmington H.S.very well.
