South Lyon, Mich. - South Lyon East recorded its 16 victory as the Cougars topped Belleville 3-0 in non-league action on Thursday (Oct. 6) evening in Belleville.

SLE claimed the win by earning a 25-22, 27-25, 25-20 triumph.

Three Cougar players 10 digs or more, including Sophomore Gabby Babinski with a team high 26 digs.  Kate Loch recorded 17 digs and Katie Berry recorded 13 digs.

Finished with a balanced attack on all 3 parts of the net with Addison Williams recording 11 kills, Lauren Johnson recording 9 kills and Kate Loch adding 11 kills.

The Cougars will return to the courts Saturday Oct. 8 at the Motor City Power Series. 

South Lyon, Mich. - The South Lyon East State volleyball program opened Lakes Valley Conference play with a program sweep of the Water Mott Corsairs inside Cougar Arena. 

Varsity had a game hitting .568 on the night with 28 kills on 44 swings.  Led by Kills leader Lauren Johnson with 7 on the night.  Addy Williams added 5 kills for the Cougars.

The Cougars held the Corsairs to a .158 attack percentage, sweeping the Corsairs 25-8, 25-13, 25-10 for the win.

The Cougars racked up 27 aces, led by Katelyn Koch with 8 all by herself.

South Lyon East heads to the Legacy Center on Saturday for the Program cup at 8:30am. 

South Lyon, MI - The South Lyon East volleyball squad battled #9 in the state Clarkston on Thursday (Sept. 1) night for their first regular season matchup, but came out on the short end of a 3-0 decision at Clarkston High School. 

The Cougars dropped set one 12-25, set two 14-25, and battled in set three but came up short 20-25.

East was led by Kate Loch with 7 kills.  The Cougars Katie Berry added 6 kills and Olivia Creswell produced 4 kills as well.

Additionally, Samantha Bearer and Kate Loch added 8 digs a piece.  Setter Katelyn Koch added 20 assists on the night.

The Cougars will play Thursday (Sept. 8) vs Waterford Mott for their first home game of the season!

South Lyon, Mich. - The South Lyon East volleyball team, started their regular season this weekend.  The Varsity team started strong with 4 wins over the weekend at the Mercy Power League. 

SLE started the season with a 2-0 decision vs Cass Tech then took a win over North Farmington 2-0. 
In the afternoon SLE beat Riverview 2-1 and Troy Athens 2-0.

Sophomore Gabby Babinski set the pace of the day with 21 kills and 9 aces.  The Middle production was outstanding by Junior Liv Creswell, Sophomore Lauren Johnson & Sophomore Addison Williams.  These 3 middles tallied for 28 kills and 7 blocks.

SLE had a .287 hitting figure in the opening weekend with 71 kills and 23 errors on 167 swings.

The Cougars will be back on the court Thursday, 9/1/2022 at Clarkston High School.

Varsity had their Inaugural scrimmage of the 2022 season.  The cougars faced up against some of the best competition in state this past Thursday and performed really well for being such a young team.  The Cougars went up against Novi, Stoney Creek, Mercy, Clarkston and Oxford.

A lot of athletes showed the potential to be great by the end of the season.
