Monday night, the South Lyon East Cougar Soccer teams gathered to celebrate all of their accomplishments and achievements from their 2018 season. It was a special night for not only the players and coaches but for the entire Cougar soccer family. All of the players received accolades from Coach Pete Stoyonovich as well as their athletic and academic awards, including varsity letters, JV numerals, and academic medals. It was impressive to see the number of our athletes who received academic honors... excellent job to all of your student athletes.

Coaches Awards

For the 2018 season, Coach Pete and Coach John selected Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. This years award winners are:

Junior Varsity Offensive Player of the Year: Ayden Rodriguez

Junior Varsity Defensive Players Of the Year: Sam Schmidt and Jacob Benjamin

Varsity Offensive Player of the Year: Isaac Shiner

Varsity Defensive Players of the Year: Tristan Nagel and Zach Hemker

Player Awards

The players had the opportunity to select their pick for two awards: Fair Play Award and Senior Cougar Award

Fair Play Award: Encompasses exemplary fair play both on and off the pitch. Ex. Helping a player from the opposing team, acts with integrity, shows respect for the crowd and the spirit of the competition.

The 2018 Recipients of the Fair Play awards are:

Junior Varsity: Maxim Wyrwa

Varsity: Grayson Davies

Cougar Senior Award: The Cougar Senior Award is given to a senior who demonstrates the following:

• Sportsmanship

• Leadership qualities

• Respected by teammates

• Shows Cougar Spirit

• Dedication to the team

The 2018 South Lyon East Senior Cougar Award Recipient is: David Crapps

Congratulations to all of the Cougar Soccer players for everything you have accomplished this year. You make us all very proud! And a special congratulations to our 11 seniors (pictured above) on a fantastic high school soccer career.
