Thursday afternoon the Cougar soccer team traveled to Tecumseh for the MHSAA Division 2, District 20 Semi-Final game against Tecumseh High School. Tecumseh came into the match with a 14-3-1 record, so the Cougars knew it was going to be a hard fought game. East came out with a lot of intensity nearly scoring in the opening minutes of the match. Tecumseh was able to score twice in the first half, taking 13 shots on East's Sophomore goalie, Alex Nevill. In the second half, the Cougars kept fighting and continued to have some close calls but were not able to get the ball past the Tecumseh keeper. The Cougar defenseman held Tecumseh to only 4 shots on goal, 2 of which resulted in goals, in the second half. Final score: East 0, Tecumseh 4

With the loss, the season ends for the team. And while they may not have put as many Ws one the board as they wanted, they have a lot to be proud of. This East Soccer team has scored more goals than in any other season, given up the least number of goals in a season and had the best league record for East boys soccer. 

As plans are already in action for next fall, the team would like to congratulate it's twelve outgoing seniors. Each of you will be missed but we know you will go out and do great things! All the best to:
