This is Aleison’s bio that was requested and will be published in the magazine:
Name: Aleison Kowalski

Team Name: Lady X
Signature Skills: Jumps especially the Hurdler and Toe Touch
Awards/Accomplishments: Being named an Ambassador for Premier Athletics for two years in a row. I am a Junior Coach at my gym and coach J1 & J2 teams.Being nominated for Student of the Year with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2017 and raising nearly $7,000 in seven weeks for cancer research and patient support.Junior Class President at my high school. Being a Varsity Sideline Cheerleader for three years and being named MVP in 2016. I am a peer mentor to a student with Autism. Selected by the high school administration to participate in school wide and district wide initiatives. What part of cheer do you enjoy most? The time spent with my friends all working together for the same thing. Working on a new skill or stunt and not giving up until it hits. And being able to coach the up and coming cheerleaders.
Who is your biggest role model? My mom because she is strong and doesn’t take “no” for an answer. She is a good leader. She inspires me with her work with Special Needs Students. She is my #1 Fan and she supports me in everything I do. She believes in me, she makes me laugh and loves me more than anything.
In one paragraph explain why you think you deserve TCLM Cheer Leader of the Year?I would love the honor of being named TCLM Cheer Leader of the Year. I have worked hard in my 12 years of cheering including overcoming Leukemia. While diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5 I only missed one competition. Cheering was the biggest thing that kept me going while I was going through treatments including losing my hair twice. I continue to work hard to always improve my skills and I work harder to make sure my team knows how much they mean to me and how much I want them to succeed. I love everything that cheer has to offer me. The growth that I have gained physically and mentally is enormous. I love giving back and volunteering and cheer has helped to give me the confidence to speak publicly to large crowds and put myself outside of my comfort zone. I love being a Junior Coach and working with our young athletes, I want their love of the sport to continue to grow like mine has. I want to be that strong coach for them everyday at practice.
